KATE CUSTODIO, M.A., LMFT

Kate Custodio is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT158109) who provides a compassionate, trauma-informed space where clients can reconnect with their sense of self-worth and discover the clarity to create lives that truly feel like their own.

With comprehensive training and focused experience in depression, anxiety, and trauma recovery, Kate’s work centers on understanding the root causes of emotional pain rather than simply managing symptoms. She supports clients across all stages of life as they navigate relationships, transitions, identity exploration, and the process of becoming more grounded, authentic, and at peace within themselves.

Kate’s therapeutic approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassionate Inquiry, and Person-Centered principles, all grounded in trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and mind-body integration. This holistic and evidence-based framework helps clients feel emotionally safe, seen, and empowered to break old patterns, restore self-trust, and experience lasting transformation.

Her clinical background includes in-depth EMDR training for trauma and anxiety recovery and certification as a Prepare/Enrich facilitator for couples and premarital counseling. Kate earned her Master’s degree with a focus on trauma-informed and integrative therapeutic practices that honor the deep connection between mind and body in the healing process.

Kate’s goal in each session is to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients can explore their experiences, uncover patterns, and develop the skills to create meaningful change. She also regularly engages in ongoing professional development to stay current with trauma-informed and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Kate brings mindfulness, presence, and grounding into her work, modeling the practices she values in daily life. Outside the therapy room, she enjoys spending time with her family and her golden retriever, often exploring nature or spending time at the beach. A regular yoga practitioner, she integrates these practices into both her personal life and therapeutic work.

Kate believes that healing opens the door to freedom, connection, and authentic self-expression. Her hope is that therapy gives clients the self-worth, clarity, and emotional freedom to create a life that genuinely feels good to live. Together, she helps clients break free from what’s been holding them back and build something more aligned, peaceful, and true.
